You’re trying your best to stay fit and healthy by hitting the gym and working out. You enjoy the training and the energetic feeling… but… you now have a ringing in your ears after your kickboxing or cardio sessions.
Ear Ringing (Tinnitus) Disappear
Why? Why must something annoying always just when you are trying to make progress in life?
Fair questions indeed. To answer the second question, that’s just life. Something will always pop up to challenge you. It’s just like that and that’s how you develop as a human being by moving forward despite all obstacles.
Now let’s talk about the ringing sound.
This is known as tinnitus, but you probably already know that. It could be a ringing іn thе ears accompanied bу а hissing, clicking, wooshing, roaring оr а thudding sound. Thе degree оf thе ringing саn range frоm mild tо intense. There might be pain and pressure in the ear too.
Ok… that’s all fine. But why are you getting it after exercise and not during normal times?
Firstly, it is due to increased blood flow because your heart is pumping away and beating harder than normal. During exertion, the heart beats harder, takes іn more oxygen аnd also expels high levels оf blood tо аll parts оf thе body. Blood is sometimes distributed to areas where it is not required in such high amounts. The body will then respond by producing a ringing sound in your ears.
This sound will diminish once your heart rate returns to normal.
You can prevent the ringing sound by pacing yourself, warming up properly and not over-exerting yourself.
Besides exercise, there are also other factors to consider.
Are you having a cold? Infections in the nose and throat may result in tinnitus symptoms due to the proximity of the throat and nose to the ear. The pressure from the mucus may trigger the ringing sound. The constant blowing of one’s nose and coughing, etc, will draw an increase in the blood flow to the ear causing the ringing.
Do you have any pre-existing head or neck injuries? If you have neck or head injuries, your ears will probably start ringing after an exercise session. Your immediate course of action will be to see a doctor because this is a sign of something serious.
Don’t exert yourself too much and make an appointment with your doctor.
Something that many people overlook is the music in their gym. Some gyms blast heavy metal music, some kickboxing classes have techno music that is blasting to motivate the members to workout in a frenzy. While your heart and lungs may be getting a good workout, your ears may be getting damaged. So, bear that in mind the next time you go to the gym.
These are just a few of the most common reasons why your ears may ring after exercise. You should observe how long the ringing lasts and what exercises trigger it. Once you have an idea of what is causing the ringing, then you just need to tailor your workout in a way that will prevent the ringing sound.
